Rebuild Update – End of May/Early June
Thank you for your continued patience—it's been a little while since our last update, and we've made significant progress. Some late-stage electrical changes required by the county caused minor delays, but we’ve now completed several key milestones:
Final painting is complete.
Most plumbing and electrical punch list items have been addressed.
Polycarbonate privacy panels were installed in the bathrooms.
Grills and safety timers have been installed.
A portion of the new furniture has arrived, and been inventoried and inspected.
Access control systems and security cameras were installed.
The pool resurfacing is complete and the pool has been filled to begin equipment testing and water treatment.
Because the commercial pool equipment has been sitting idle with stagnant water in it for over two years, it must undergo deep cleaning and thorough testing. To meet current commercial pool standards, the water must be properly balanced and circulated, and all mechanical systems must pass inspection before the Health Department can approve the facility for use. Bay County is treating this as a new construction, so full inspection and approval are required to ensure safety and compliance.
Looking Ahead
In the coming weeks, we expect to:
Complete mechanical, electrical, and plumbing inspections
Receive and place pool dining furniture
Install TVs and wireless access points
Install the pavilion boat light!
Test and connect gas lines to the propane tanks
Install remaining door hardware and bathroom accessories, including changing stations
Continue pool equipment testing and daily water stabilization
We are working on all of these things concurrently. Ongoing pool water testing and sterilization must occur over the span of a couple of weeks, before we can request a Health Department inspection. We know everyone is excited to enjoy the new amenities, but we must complete each step to open safely and responsibly.

Important Site Safety Reminder
Now that the pool is filled, liability risks to both the community and contractor have increased. The site remains an active construction zone and is strictly off-limits to everyone except rebuild committee members and contractors. The area is monitored by security cameras, and our contractor has been instructed to contact the sheriff and escort any unauthorized visitors off the premises.
Thank you again for your continued support as we work toward completing the rebuild and reopening the facility.
Riverhouse & Gym: Phased Build Planning
At the last board meeting several weeks ago, the Board approved a resolution based on community feedback to proceed with a phased build approach. This document can be found on Appfolio. The Rebuild Committee is awaiting further direction and funding from the board in order to initiate dialog with the build team regarding re-design, re-engineering, and re-permitting to execute a phased build approach
The Committee has asked the Board to host an open Rebuild/Board meeting to align on project scope and goals. We hope a meeting will be scheduled within the next two weeks in order to get this process started.
