Button Buck Road Material Tests
On October 15, we installed a 100-foot trial resurfacing at the east end of Button Buck. This new surface uses clean crushed concrete instead of natural stone. The material consists of various sizes, allowing it to compact smoothly and "nest" well under traffic. It's also less dusty, more cost-effective, and is expected to last longer than traditional rock surfaces.
We'll monitor this trial section for about a month to observe its performance under both traffic and rainy conditions. So far, it appears to provide a smoother, quieter, and less dusty alternative for our unpaved roads. We welcome any feedback and will discuss this further during our November 13 Board meeting.
Credit and many thanks to resident Randy Merritt for leading this project.
